How It Works

When you contact me for a project, here's what happens, step by step:
- I receive your quote request. I'll respond and let you know my fee for the job, whether I'm available, and how long the project will take me.
- If we agree to go ahead with the project, I'll fax you a letter of agreement that we both sign, detailing the parameters of the project, the fee, and the date of delivery. You'll send me an advance fee of one half of the project total.
- Along with the advance fee, you'll provide me with background material on your business, target clients, and what you offer. These include Web sites, brochures, sales letters, reports, reviews, articles, testimonials, awards, and anything else you can give me.
THEN...
- I get to work. First, I work on the headline. I generate many headlines, looking at each from all angles, before deciding on the most effective one.
- Next comes the body copy. I dig for more information on your target audience--their needs, problems, hopes and concerns--and the benefits you have to offer them.
- I'll have more questions for you as I study your materials and develop a concept for the most effective copy to attract your target clients. Answer the questions to the best of your ability. The more specific your answers, the better the copy, because I can target it precisely to the clients you're looking to attract.
- I write. And rewrite. I carefully craft the offer, call to action, and all the other elements you find in effective marketing copy. And when I'm done, I edit, triple-checking the copy for errors.
AND FINALLY...
- On the due date (usually 3 to 4 weeks from when you first contact me), you'll receive the copy in the format that you chose on the request form. If free revisions are included in our agreement (and they usually are), you'll have 30 days to request them.
- I'll send you an invoice for the remaining half of the project fee, payable within 30 days.
- You take your copy and paste it into the formatted document or Web page you have ready (or save it until you have created your design).
- Congratulations! You now have professionally written marketing material that appeals to the clients you want, and showcases the benefits of your products and services. You can use it however you like (but I suggest you follow my suggestions on its use).
